hmmm...

tried something new...just for fun. so many styles of photography and they all seem to fascinate me.

i also experimented with photoshop a bit more. went for something a little different.

christmas awakening..

some photos from the 2007 christmas awakening. we sang christmas carols and heard an awesome message from a student at WWU. i was able to get a few photos of practice friday night and the service on saturday while still being in charge of the whole service haha. some of the last photos are from practice on friday.

multnomah falls

about a week ago my dad and i found ourselves on the way back from portland with the intent to shoot multnomah waterfalls. and that we did. i quickly found out that battling spray from the waterfalls has to be one of the most annoying things ever. seriously. i could get 1-2 shots off before i had to clean my lens again. not cool. we also drove a bit farther down the road to horsetail falls. my dad took the last one with his Nikon N70.

i love thanksgiving..

pretty much one of the best holidays in my opinion.. and this was probably one of the funnest i've ever had. my older brother and sister and their spouses came to my house and with my sister came my niece and nephew, the two cutest kids ever :] anyways..break was good and of course i took some photos, so here they are.

cold and foggy..

i don't know why...but on one of the coldest days in the fog i decided to go and take pictures. it was COLD....... and that's pretty much all i have to say. oh and my shoes got dirty..

bored..

so i was reading up on depth of field, and decided to have fun with it. so i grabbed my 50mm f/1.8 and took pictures of......mandy..my dog. anyways..i think i achieved what i wanted the best in this first one, so i'm happy. the last one just cracks me up. it was a looooooonng yawn.

tri-cities with darren & alyssa..

so yesterday Darren and i went to tri-cities with the lovely Alyssa and had a little photoshoot. we had tons of fun and each came up with some good shots. it was a little hard for me just cause i'd never done a portrait shoot like this and i'm also trying to get comfortable with my camera, but i definitely learned a ton. here's a few of my photos, and more can be found on my Flickr Page.

whitman

i finally got out of the house on sunday and took my camera along hoping to find somewhere to take a few photos. as of then i hadn't taken any pictures outdoors, and i was really wanting to. on my way home i stopped at whitman campus for about 30 min. and ended up with 4 decent photos.

improv

sat. night was filled with way too many things to do...one of them being a benefit concert. the concert was put on by the village club, and it's purpose was to collect blankets for the homeless to donate to a group doing mission work in portland. the concert consisted of ryan aqui and kristen coffeen singing, me playing percussion, and kendra coffeen playing bass. it was a lot of fun and i hope we get to do it again sometime. afterwards, the improv team, led by scotty entertained everyone with some laugh out loud improv. so....i grabbed my camera and took some photos. here's what i came up with...

awakening..

here are a few photos from The Awakening that i took this last saturday. i got my camera on friday, took a few photos friday night and then got my first good feel for the camera on saturday. all of these were taken with available lighting, which was fun trying to negotiate but i'm fairly pleased with the results..

I have a blog..

ok..well here it is. my photo blog..
i might not be the best, but photography has been a passion of mine and i've decided to make a photoblog so that i can share my photography with you. i'm still learning a lot, but i'm experimenting and hopefully i'll find my niche soon.

i just recently bought a new camera (Canon 40D), and that's the reason i'm just now making a blog. so all the pictures on here are taken with this camera unless otherwise stated.

anyways..i hope you enjoy and keep checking back, because i will be updating this regularly.. i'd love to know what you think of my photos, and i most definitely don't mind constructive criticism, so fire away!
